Palo Santo (Bursera graveolens)

Overview
Palo Santo wood comes from the Bursera graveolens tree, a wild tree native to coastal South America. It's known as "holy wood" in Spanish and is part of the same family as frankincense and myrrh. The wood is traditionally used for its purported medicinal and spiritual properties, including cleansing spaces and promoting relaxation.
Burned as a cleansing incense and used as a smudging tool to release a space from negative forces, palo santo wood invites practice with intention. The scent beckons a hundred stories; naturally occurring organic compounds limonene and terpineol produce a focal aura of citrus and cedar.
