Bosse (Leplaea cedrata)
Overview
Guarea cedrata, also called light bossé or scented guarea, is a species of plant in the family Meliaceae. It is found in Cameroon, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Uganda. It is threatened by habitat loss.
The tropical tree Bossé is a large tree of about 40 in height and 1.5 in diameter. The bole is straight, with bases, more rarely with buttresses. It is covered with yellowish and scaly bark.
The edge and the flowers of Bossé give off a strong characteristic perfume.
The name "Bossé" actually includes several species, divided into two groups of pilot names: the light Bossé (Guarea cedrata and Guarea laurentii) and the dark Bossé (Guarea thompsonii). The second has a more brownish trunk and its edge exudes a whitish latex. as lunars.

Description & Distribution
Bossé is a tropical pinkish brown, light to medium-heavy, moderately hard wood. It is a durable exotic species, resistant to fungi and dry wood borers, although sensitive to termites. Bossé is a tropical species characteristic of the forests of West and Central Africa. Bossé can be found from Liberia to Uganda, and as far south as Angola.
