Ghana's timber industry expands southward, acquires pine wood in Santiago.
Ganahl Lumber, based in Anaheim, Orange County, has expanded southward and acquired Pine Tree Lumber, an independent operator, in San Diego. This move marks Ganahl Lumber's first foray into the San Diego area, extending its regional footprint to four core counties.
Pine Tree Lumber, a long-established family business, was founded by B.A. Sweet in Escondido in the 1940s and added a Fallbrook store in 1952. After decades of operation, the company has built a solid customer base in the northern part of San Diego County. Both stores have now been rebranded under the Ganahl Lumber name and are in full operation.

This merger and acquisition has expanded the retail network of Ghana Wood from the original 11 to 13, achieving full coverage of San Diego, Orange County, Riverside County and Los Angeles County. Analysts point out that this strategic regional penetration will help Ghana Wood integrate resources and enhance its comprehensive competitiveness in the high-end building materials market in Southern California.
For this family business with over 70 years of history, choosing to join the Ghana Wood system is also regarded as a new starting point for inheritance and development. The business of the original Pine Wood Company will continue to serve the local community under the new brand framework.
